February Daily Instagram Challenge for Planners

Thursday, January 29, 2015

I am so excited to be doing another daily photo challenge over on Instagram. I believe my last one was back in October 2014. If you do more than a few and you don't keep up it can be a challenge to get a photo posted daily. I mostly love it for the inspiration and to see all the neat planner ideas everyone creates.

The lovely Ann who is @mrsbrimbles on Instagram has created a February daily challenge and I've decided to tag along! =)  Not only is she hosting the topics for the challenge she is also giving away a lovely box of goodies as a prize! That is so sweet :) If you don't care to enter the giveaway you can do the daily photo challenge just for fun. Also included on her page is a download link for the prompts below that you can print out and put in your planner.  (I'll print mine out this weekend and post the photo on my instagram account @thevelvetfilo)

For all the details to come join us just click on her link below =)

2015 Update Where Have I been?

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

If you have visited my blog lately you may have asked yourself this.....
The short version is I have been really sick. Before I continue I just want to acknowledge that I'm not complaining because my health could have been far worse. I don't have a form of cancer or something to that extreme. Anyone who is reading this and does have cancer or something that extreme I just want to send my deepest symphony for you. I know you are going through a terribly hard time and I wish you rest and pain free days. My ex mother in law passed away last week from a long hard battle with cancer. It's a terrible disease and I pray for a cure in my life time.

Without going into boring details... I have been really sick since November 2013. I recently discovered in the spring of 2014 that I have G.E.R.D (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) Unlike a lot of people I didn't have most of the signs of gerd. Most of my signs were a silent gerd which still caused me terrible nausea every single day among other things. After months of trying new medication I finally found one I liked but after a while it wasn't working.

Finally after being miserable for so long I requested to have my gallbladder checked because I had some of the signs. I had my test done on a Friday by that Monday I was told I had gallstones, the next day on Tuesday I was in the ER having my gallbladder removed. :( Happen really fast but at least it's over! Even with advanced technologies, my body does not accept the surgery and I'm struggling to get back into a normal routine. I recently went back to work which wears you out believe it or not. You don't realize how much you use your stomach muscles when you have an office job. Thank goodness for tylenol and ice packs :)

So anyway I just wanted to say that I'm still here! You can probably find me faster on my Instagram account THEVELVETFILO. I'm slowly working myself back up to my planners, crafting, designing  and making new videos. Currently my laptop isn't liking my cell phone so I will be getting an actual camera for videos next month. I've been slowly working on a whole new set of designs for my etsy store for 2015 and trying to learn graphic design to revamp my website. Hard for this Kansas gal of four children and not much graphic design skills to get everything a moving but I'm certainly trying my best.
Thanks for sitting around I'll check back often :)
